Luke’s work draws from a wide variety of sources including but not limited to: media and pop culture, video games, animation, music videos, significant moments in pop culture, art history, the natural world, performance art, cityscapes, and everyday life. He has been an artist his entire life and is originally from Alexandria, Virginia.

He presently lives and works in San Francisco, California.

“I saw Luke’s Instagram and was wowed by his pop star portraits. Had the pleasure of visiting his studio to see them up close and learn more about his approach to creating moments that were recognizable yet imbued with his artist’s touch. Whether darker and more moody, or picture perfect recreations, it was so fun to spend time with him and his work. I asked him to recreate my personal favorite moment from a 2009 live Lady Gaga performance, and the process for discussing and collaborating on what exactly I envisioned and what he saw for the piece was seamless. What he painted for me was a stunning image capturing both the realism, but also deeper artistic meaning of the moment; it captured the way I feel when I think about that era in pop culture.
